Serenity RPG - The Valcyr The Valcyr, a Mustang-class Mid-Bulk Transport (adapted from the Traveller RPG)
The Valcyr started life as a regular Mustang-class Mid-Bulk Transport. That was before it was bought by Knight Industries, a family-run company from the Core that made it's fortunes through a combination of shipping and investments. They had the top deck modified to serve as a mobile office and boardroom, adding a meeting room and infirmary at the expense of two of the staterooms. The most difficult job was replacing the single shuttle with two and using the old shuttle bay as a viewing lounge to impress potential clients. The 'wings' are mostly cosmetic, but can be used to store additional fuel or other fluids if required. This new look makes the Valcyr distinctly memorable, as well as being the cause of a few minor problems that keep a good engineer on his toes. When the company got themselves a newer vessel to travel around the 'Verse in, they left the Valcyr in the possession of the youngest scion of the family, Thomas Clarice Knightsford.
